Meet the Team
Lila Tasca, FOUNDER and PRESIDENT
LILA founded Bright Minds Las Vegas in 2023 after volunteering at Catholic Charities and learning that the domestic violence shelter situated next door provided temporary housing for nearly 80 children. A rising high school senior in Las Vegas, Lila participates in multiple extracurricular activities, including Varsity Cheer Team and National Spanish Honor Society, and serves as a Student Ambassador for her high school. She volunteers as a tutor at Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada, and this summer she is interning at Quiet Storm Foundation. In her free time, Lila enjoys spending time with her friends and working on her cheerleading skills.
Penelope Tasca, FOUNDER and VICE PRESIDENT
PENELOPE is a rising high school sophomore in Las Vegas. She is one of the Founders of Bright Minds Las Vegas and serves as its Vice President. She loves to find new ways for the company to provide assistance and expand the number of children it helps. In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer and hanging out with her friends.
Zachary Rose, MARKETING DIRECTOR
ZACHARY has proudly served as the organization's Marketing Director since May 2023. He is consistently developing innovative strategies to market the company's educational materials and is incredibly passionate about all things marketing-related. He is fluent in Spanish and a self-proclaimed junk food connoisseur. In his free time, Zachary enjoys practicing his Spanish-speaking skills and listening to music.
Cathleen Schmitt, SECRETARY
CATIE is a rising high school senior in Las Vegas. Active in her school community, Catie participates in the Varsity Cheer Team and the National English Honor Society. She has volunteered with organizations like Save the Word Nevada and National Charity League and plans to continue these efforts. Catie also volunteers as a tutor at Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada. In her spare time, Catie enjoys hanging out with friends and practicing her cheerleading routines.
